This Privacy Policy explains how Afterglow: AI Video Maker (package name com.afterglow.motion, referred to as “Afterglow,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information when you use the mobile application, related features, or contact us. Afterglow provides tools for creating AI-assisted cinematic video from prompts and eligible media.
1. Scope and Your Agreement
This Policy applies to information handled through Afterglow and related support communications. By using the app, you acknowledge the practices described here. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
2. Information We May Collect
Content you provide
Depending on the features you choose, we may process:
- text prompts, creative instructions, captions, and other information you submit;
- images, video, audio, or other media you select for a requested creation or editing feature;
- generated or edited video, preview images, and related outputs; and
- messages and information you include when contacting support.
Prompts and media may contain personal information about you or others. Please submit content only when you have the necessary rights, notices, and permissions.
Technical and usage information
When you use Afterglow, we may receive device and app information such as device type, operating system and version, app version, language, general region inferred from network information, IP address, timestamps, feature interactions, performance data, crash diagnostics, and security or fraud-prevention signals. The particular information available may depend on your device, settings, app version, and the features you use.
App permissions
Afterglow may request access to device capabilities, such as photos, videos, media storage, camera, or microphone, only when relevant to a feature you choose. Permission names and behavior vary by Android version and device. You can review or change permissions in your device settings. Denying a permission may make the related feature unavailable.
Purchase information, if applicable
If paid products, subscriptions, or in-app purchases are offered through Google Play, Google Play processes the transaction under its own terms and privacy practices. We may receive transaction status, product, entitlement, renewal, cancellation, country, or limited purchase-related identifiers needed to provide and manage access. We do not receive your full payment-card details from Google Play.
3. How We May Use Information
We may use information as reasonably necessary to:
- provide requested AI video generation, editing, rendering, preview, export, and related features;
- operate, maintain, troubleshoot, personalize, and improve the app and its workflows;
- understand feature performance and address crashes or technical errors;
- respond to questions, support requests, and user communications;
- manage purchases or entitlements when paid functionality is available;
- protect users, enforce our Terms of Use, detect abuse, and maintain service integrity; and
- comply with applicable law, legal process, or valid government requests.
4. AI Processing
AI cinematic video features require processing the prompts, selected media, settings, and other content you submit to produce the requested output. This processing may involve automated systems and infrastructure used to operate the feature. Depending on the request and service configuration, information may be transmitted for processing rather than handled solely on your device.
AI output is probabilistic and may be inaccurate, unexpected, or similar to material created for others. You should review output before saving, publishing, or relying on it. Do not submit highly sensitive or confidential information that is unnecessary for your request.
5. How Information May Be Shared
We may disclose information in the following circumstances:
- Service operations. To service providers or processors that perform functions supporting hosting, AI processing, content delivery, analytics, diagnostics, customer support, security, or other app operations, subject to appropriate obligations.
- Legal and safety reasons. When reasonably necessary to comply with law or legal process; protect rights, safety, and security; investigate misuse; or prevent fraud or technical harm.
- Business changes. In connection with an actual or proposed merger, financing, acquisition, restructuring, insolvency, or transfer of all or part of a business, subject to applicable law.
- At your direction. When you choose to export, share, publish, or otherwise send content to another app, platform, person, or destination.
- With consent. For another purpose disclosed to you and permitted by your consent.
When you share an output outside Afterglow, the receiving service’s terms and privacy practices apply to its handling of that content.
6. Data Retention
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, including providing requested features, maintaining security and continuity, resolving disputes, enforcing agreements, and satisfying legal obligations. Retention depends on factors such as the type of information, the feature used, operational requirements, user choices, and applicable law. Information may be deleted, de-identified, or retained where permitted or required. Backup or security copies may persist for a limited operational period before being overwritten.
7. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information against unauthorized access, alteration, loss, or misuse. No method of transmission, processing, or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your device and any account or platform through which you access or share content.
8. Your Choices and Rights
You may be able to limit information handling by choosing what to submit, changing device permissions, refraining from optional features, deleting content available within the app, or uninstalling Afterglow. If purchases are available, subscription and payment controls may be managed through your Google Play account, subject to Google Play rules.
Depending on where you live, applicable law may give you rights concerning personal information, such as requesting access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or a portable copy, and appealing certain decisions. These rights may be subject to exceptions and verification. To make a privacy request, contact us using the address below and describe your request. We may ask for information reasonably needed to verify and process it.
9. Children’s Privacy
Afterglow is not directed to children under the minimum age required to consent to data processing in their jurisdiction. Do not use the app or submit a child’s personal information unless the use is lawful and all required parental or guardian permissions have been obtained. If you believe a child has provided personal information improperly, contact us so we can review the matter.
10. International Processing
Information may be processed in countries other than the one where you live. Those locations may have different data-protection laws. Where required, we take steps intended to provide an appropriate basis or safeguards for relevant transfers.
11. Third-Party Services and Links
Afterglow may interact with device platforms, Google Play, or destinations you choose for sharing. Their information practices are governed by their own policies, not this Policy. We encourage you to review those policies before using the relevant service.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in Afterglow, legal requirements, or our practices. We will post the revised Policy and update the “Last Updated” date. Where required, we will provide additional notice or request consent. Your continued use after an update takes effect means you acknowledge the revised Policy, to the extent permitted by law.
